Fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix qualified for the closed selection stage for IEM Winter 2021

Teams fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix became finalists of the first open qualifier in the European qualifying round for IEM Winter 2021. In the decisive matches of the competition, which was held in the Single Elimination format, they beat Nigma Galaxy (ex-GalaxyRacer) and Eternal Fire, respectively.

In the list of participants in the closed selection stage, fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix joined four owners of direct invites: Complexity, ENCE, mousesports and Team Spirit. The last two slots will be occupied by the finalists of the second open qualifier, which will take place on October 15-16.

The final part of the qualifying round for Europe will take place on October 18-19. Eight participants will face off in the Double Elimination bracket in three slots.

As a reminder, IEM Winter 2021 is scheduled for December 2-12 in LAN format. Sixteen teams, including representatives of the CIS represented by Gambit and Virtus.pro, will compete for a prize pool of $ 250,000.
