nexa: "Even s1mple doesn't have the same impact NiKo does on every single map."

G2 captain Nemanja "nexa" Isakovic in an interview with the HLTV.org portal said that he considers his teammate Nikola "NiKo" Kovacs the best player in the world at the moment. In his opinion, the stellar Bosnian is a more influential participant in each individual match than the NAVI sniper Alexander "s1mple" Kostylev, who is recognized by a significant part of the community as the strongest representative of the CS: GO pro scene in 2021.

In his current form, NiKo is without a doubt the best player in the world. If the season had turned out differently and we won some tournaments or at least won the Major final, where we lost to NAVI, I think that NiKo could claim the title of the best player in the world. He has had a phenomenal year and has really improved in the last couple of months with inhuman numbers. I think that even s1mple doesn't have the same impact as NiKo does on every single card. We are still a weaker team than NAVI, but if a couple of players next to NiKo match his level, then in the next final against NAVI we can really win.

Currently, G2 and NAVI are taking part in the prestigious BLAST Premier World Final 2021, which is taking place in Copenhagen. In the opening match, the “samurai” roster defeated the NIP and moved further along the upper bracket, while the CIS representative made his debut with a defeat from Liquid, after which he defeated Heroic in the first round of the lower bracket.
